Food Bank

Weekdays • 9:00am-1:30pm

St. Luke’s partners with Second Harvest Food Bank to provide emergency food boxes to families and individuals in need. Food boxes provide three meals for two days for each person in the household. No appointment is needed.

ELL Classes

Tuesdays & Thursdays • 6:00pm-8:00pm

In partnership with Nashville Adult Literacy Council, St. Luke’s offers English as a Learned Language classes for beginning and intermediate students. Classes meet at St. Luke’s and registration is ongoing.

St. Luke’s can connect interested couples, families and individuals of all ages with free, confidential counseling sessions through a partnership with the First Church of the Nazarene.

Emergency Financial Assistance

St. Luke’s partners with Needlink and United Way of Metropolitan Nashville to refer financial assistance to those in need living within the 37209 zip code. Help is available for rent, utility bills, and prescriptions. For more information on Needlink's services, click here

Free Diapers for Families

The Nashville Diaper Connection distributes free diapers to families in need. Visit St. Luke’s during business hours to receive or donate diapers. 

Free Financial Counseling

St. Luke’s provides referrals to the Nashville Financial Empowerment Center for free, 1-on-1 financial counseling. Locations are available throughout the city including Nashville State Community College Whitebridge campus in West Nashville.

FREE Tax Preparation (VITA)


St. Luke’s offers free income tax preparation for Nashville area residents with incomes of $64,000 or less. Trained volunteers prepare taxes at no cost to the taxpayer. Refunds can be electronically deposited into your bank account in as quickly as 10 days.

Each October, St. Luke’s hosts a “Trunk-or-Treat” and haunted house for neighborhood families with snacks, activities, games and a costume contest. The event is open to everyone in the community.


During the Christmas season, donors can “adopt” a family and purchase modest gifts for the children and parents. Families are chosen from a lottery and pay $5 to register for the program. St. Luke’s hosts a Christmas House where families can pick up gifts.

This ‘N’ That Thrift Shop

Our thrift store was established in 1971 to provide a source of affordable goods for local residents and a steady income for the Child Development Program at St. Luke’s.
